Raymond was born in Pretoria and has been performing since the age of 5. He commenced his formal music education at the Pro Arte School of Performing Arts, and later went on to study piano and composition under professor Joseph Stanford at the University of Pretoria.

He has been involved in the local commercial music - and musical theatre circuits as a freelance pianist, musical director, session musician and keyboard player, performer and songwriter since 2003, boasting numerous television and stage appearances with some of South Africa's top musicians and performers to his credit.

Raymond also enjoys a very successful career as a composer and musical arranger, receiving various commission works for film, television and stage both locally and abroad. He is also actively involved as music arranger for some of SA's top artists.

He has also been involved as a keyboard player and vocalist in numerous productions for the Barnyard Theatres since 2009 with productions such as Diamonds & Pearls, Rocking All Over The World, Rock Circus, Rock On Beethoven, Rough Diamonds & Divas, Moonshadows, and more recently Thank You For The Music to his credit. He has also been the musical director for numerous Barnyard Theatre productions, boasting almost 20 productions to his credit in the last four years.

He was also the resident musical director in 2008 for The People's Theatre at the Joburg Theatre Complex. More recently Raymond was involved as assistant musical director and conductor in Janice Honeyman's pantomimes Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates and Jack and the Beanstalk in the Nelson Mandela Theatre at the Joburg Theatre Complex.

He also teaches vocals, keyboards, piano and music technology at various private schools and colleges in the greater Johannesburg area, as well as privately. Over the past 5 years he has established himself as a vocal coach and rehearsal pianist whose students consistently deliver in the studio and on stage.

Raymond also forms part of various corporate bands and jazz ensembles throughout the year.

He was the musical director for the 2013 MTN Radio Awards Ceremony in collaboration with Mann Made Media.

Raymond was also recently involved as keyboard player in the international tour of the Australian smash hit show Boys in the Band produced by SMA Productions and Broadway director/producer David Malek.

Raymond was also the musical director for the live DVD recording of Select Music's KRONE 1 and KRONE 2 at the Grandwest Arena in Cape Town and again at the Carnival City Big Top Arena in Johannesburg recently where he worked with some of SA's top Afrikaans artists including Heinz Winckler, Kurt Darren, Nicholis Louw, Snotkop, MoniQue and Elizma Theron.

Raymond is currently studying Psychology part-time through UNISA and astrology privately and resides in Johannesburg.
